This module introduces councillors to their role and their responsibilities within the council as the chairperson.  It will also provide guidance of how to chair a successful meeting.

This SALC chairperson/leadership core training pathway offers lots of flexibility for new and more experienced councillors that have the role of chairperson and vice-chair of full council or committees.    The four modules in the series cover the following areas and it is recommended all four modules are booked at the same time:

  • module 1 -  chairing a meeting

  • module 2 -  professional conduct

  • module 3 -  communications

  • module 4 -  community engagement
