DESCRIPTION:<a href="https://www.suffolk-alc.gov.uk/event/clerks-unplugged-
on-the-road-13-october-2026-1402">Clerks Unplugged On The Road - 13 Octobe
r 2026</a>\nJoin us on Tuesday 13th October at The Community Centre\, Need
 ham Market\, 10am –12pm for a relaxed\, informal morning where you can e
xpect great conversation\, practical tips\, shared experiences over coffee
and cake. We’re pleased to welcome our speaker Andy Read - founder of t
he Sudbury Team Defib - a group of people who wish to see everyone being g
iven the best chance of survival and a vision to have a defibrillator avai
lable within 2 minutes of every Sudbury home and workplace. The group aims
to reduce mortality and create a community “self-help” spirit\, which
can be shared with others. As part of his talk\, Andy will give attendees
the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of defibrillators or learn mor
e about their use and management within our communities. The session will
cover a range of practical considerations\, including: *Purchasing and ins
talling defibrillators *Raising community awareness and encouraging confid
ence in their use *Ongoing maintenance\, including maintenance contracts *
Registering and managing defibrillators through The Circuit (British Heart
Foundation) *Recording and managing assets through councils’ asset regi
sters and risk assessments It promises to be a practical and informative s
ession\, with useful guidance for councils looking to ensure their defibri
llators are accessible\, maintained and ready to use when they are needed
most. We also hope to be able to offer CPR training on the day\, providing
an excellent opportunity to refresh existing skills or gain greater confi
dence in responding to a cardiac emergency. Details of the CPR element wil
l be confirmed nearer the time. We look forward to seeing you there!
