 on 7 September 2026 that plans for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) i
 n Suffolk are to be withdrawn and reviewed\, NALC is already taking action
  to ensure the voice of parish and town councils is heard at the highest l
 evel. What is NALC doing? Seeking immediate clarification from ministers a
 nd civil servants on the implications of the Government's review for Suffo
 lk. Representing the interests of parish and town councils throughout the 
 review process and pressing for greater certainty for local councils and c
 ommunities. Calling on Government to conclude the review quickly\, recogni
 sing the significant time and effort councils have already invested in LGR
  discussions. Making the case for a stronger first tier of local governmen
 t\, ensuring parish and town councils are recognised as essential partners
  in local service delivery\, community representation and devolution. Moni
 toring developments closely and providing updates as further information b
 ecomes available. Why is this important for Suffolk? The Government's deci
 sion creates uncertainty for local government structures across Suffolk. P
