Suffolk in Focus
SALC explains and champions Suffolk's local councils

SALC Chief Executive Sally Longmate attended Suffolk County Council's Full Council meeting on 16 July to speak under the Suffolk in Focus agenda item. Her presentation introduced councillors to Suffolk's network of parish councils, town councils and parish meetings, highlighting their role as the first tier of local government and explaining how SALC supports, champions and connects the sector across the county.

Sally also emphasised SALC's role as a bridge between grassroots local government and strategic decision-makers, ensuring local voices are heard and helping to build strong relationships across all tiers of local government.

Her key message was simple: SALC connects, supports and influences, helping to deliver strong councils, strong communities and a strong Suffolk.
